Blake reunited with her The Sisterhood of Traveling Pants co-stars last night to support the New York premiere of Amber Tamblyn’s directional debut Paint It Black! During the red carpet, PEOPLE asked Amber Tamblyn how the foursome managed to keep their friendship going after all these years to which she joked it was a bit of a mystery before speaking about Blake helping her out when it comes to fashion: “It’s so funny because some of us having nothing in common. Even just Blake and I, her understanding of fashion is beyond me and I’m constantly texting her pictures like, ‘Should I wear this?’ Even tonight, she explained to me how to steam this shirt over text. This shirt was all wrinkled and I was like, ‘I’m screwed! I don’t know what I’m going to do with this shirt.’ And she was like, ‘Put it in the bathroom for 20 minutes and turn the shower on. Are you good with your jewelry? What shoes are you going to wear?’” Friendship goals, am i right?

Photos of Blake arriving to the premiere, at the red carpet and after party have been added to our gallery!

Bruised  •  By  •  0 Comments

Hey Blake fans! Remember when a couple of weeks ago, Blake revealed to Variety that she was about to do a movie where she would be playing a woman who is a fighter? We finally have more information on the project, thanks to Deadline!

Blake Lively has been set for Bruised, a mixed marital arts action-drama directed by The Notebook and My Sister’s Keeper helmer Nick Cassavetes. Nick Meyer’s Sierra/Affinity is launching sales on the project to foreign buyers in Cannes this week.

Lively will play Jackie, a single mother working two jobs and a disgraced MMA fighter who has been up against the ropes her entire life. When the authorities threaten to take her young son away from her, she must get back in the cage for one last chance to fight for redemption and give her son the life she always wanted.

Michelle Rosenfarb writes the script while Thunder Road Pictures’ Basil Iwanyk will produce with Linda Gottlieb and Guymon Casady of Management 360. Project is eyeing a September start of shoot.

Lively is coming off the back of last year’s box office hit The Shallows, which took $119 million globally. In that film she played a young woman grieving the loss of her mother who goes surfing off a secluded beach only to find herself in the feeding ground of a Great White shark. Jaume Collet-Serra directed and it was produced by Lynn Harris and Matti Leshem. She also starred in last year’s Woody Allen title Café Society with Steve Carell, Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg, which opened the Cannes fest last year.

Blake attended yesterday Variety’s Power of Women Luncheon, where she was honored by the publication for her work with Child Rescue Coalition. In case you didn’t knew, Blake has been working with Child Rescue Coalition on promoting a groundbreaking technology that flags the IP addresses of people who share and download sexually explicit images of minors. You can read our post where she first speaks about it with Variety here. She was introduced by her friend Salma Hayek before making her own speech. A very beautiful and emotional speech that we hope reached out to the people in the room, to help the association as well. We have added to the gallery photos from the arrivals, red carpet and inside the event, along with one portrait taken of the honorees. You may also watch bellow videos of Blake giving some interviews on red carpet, Selma Hayek’s introduction (which we advice you to watch) and Blake’s very special speech.

Interviews  •  By  •  0 Comments

As one of Variety’s Power of Women: New York honorees, Blake Lively spoke with the publication about women in Hollywood, if she would be up for a “The Shallows” sequel, her upcoming movie role (which got us all excited) and shooting “Gossip Girl”. The interview can be read bellow and under the cut!

There’s been a national conversation recently about gender disparity in Hollywood. Have you experienced that?
Yeah, I’ve felt that. It’s hard to complain when there are women who are being sex trafficked, women being treated as objects and product. Yes, it’s important to have that conversation, because equality is equality. I feel fortunate. It’s still to far from what it should be for women in 2017.

It’s important to remember that half the audience of ticket buyers are female. Are you interested in doing tentpoles?
I don’t look at movies by the budget. I look at movies by the character. What was neat about “The Shallows,” it was really low budget. It was a $17 million movie and we did over $120 million worldwide. It’s cool to do that with a story about a woman. It’s proof people want to see movies about women. It doesn’t all have to be Nicholas Sparks-type films. When you look at a “Star Wars” franchise now versus the “Star Wars” franchise then, there are women at the center.

Do you think there could be a sequel to “The Shallows”?
I don’t know what would happen. I hope not; I’m not ready to go work out like that again. I’m about to do a movie in a couple months where I’m playing a woman who is a fighter.

Have you started boxing?
I’m not there yet. I’m getting my back strong.

What speaks to you in a script?
I look for interesting women. It can be a woman in every frame of the movie or it could be a woman that’s in one scene, but I look for characters that I connect with. Having a family and having worked on a show for six years, it really made me want to do work that I love. And it leads to greater success, which only means more opportunity to do that again.

Blake Lively is among Variety’s Power of Women: New York Honorees alongside Jessica Chastain, Chelsea Clinton, Gayle King, Audra McDonald, and Shari Redstone. Blake is being recognized for her work with Child Rescue Coalition, and you can read all about it bellow. She is set to attend Power of Women: New York luncheon on Friday, April 21.

VARIETY – Blake Lively wants to use the power of the web to crack down on child pornography. The movie star (“The Shallows,” “Café Society”) is working with the Child Rescue Coalition on promoting a groundbreaking technology that flags the IP addresses of people who share and download sexually explicit images of minors.

The actress and L’Oreal pitchwoman found out about the nonprofit at an event sponsored by the beauty brand. “There are millions of files all over the world being traded every single day of child pornography,” says Lively, who was drawn to the cause as the mother of two young children. “It’s so disturbing. A lot of these people are fathers.”

Coalition CEO Carly Asher Yoost says she and Lively were immediately simpatico. “We hit it off, and we’re both passionate about protecting kids,” says Yoost, who founded the nonprofit organization in 2013, in Boca Raton, Fla. “We stayed in touch, and she really wanted to help. She got us a meeting at a technology summit at Facebook.”

Yoost hopes to convince internet providers to block users from sharing child pornography, as she points to research that suggests 85% of those who consume it have abused children. “Our mission is to protect the innocent,” Yoost says. “We try to get [the data] in the hands of law enforcement.”

By partnering with officers in 67 countries, the Child Rescue Coalition has led to the arrest of 9,000 predators, and rescued 2,084 children from active abuse. “If you proactively find these predators, you can save so many children,” says Lively.
