All I See Is You, Interviews  •  By  •  Comments Off on Blake Lively Opens Up about the “Most Intense Film” of Her Career

Blake recently sat down with Vanity Fair to talk about All I See Is You, her upcoming movie that is set to hit theaters on October 27. In the interview which you can read all about bellow, she opens up about the making of the movie and how it’s the “most intense film” of her career.

In the upcoming drama All I See Is You, Blake Lively plays a nearly blind woman whose sight is restored after an urgent, miraculous surgery. The character, Gina, then goes through a whirlwind of change, discovering new things about herself, her sexuality, and her marriage. It’s a fraught psychological affair, with Gina’s husband (played by Jason Clarke) slowly realizing that he misses the days when his wife was wholly dependent on him.

“It’s the performance that I’m most proud of,” Lively tells Vanity Fair.

Directed by Marc Forster, the film requires a lot of Lively, who appears in nearly every scene as her character transforms from a meek woman into a determined siren. Forster shapes the drama with experimental flair, featuring kaleidoscopic imagery and racy scenes that required Lively to appear partially nude on screen for the first time in her career.

That was so outside her wheelhouse that Lively almost never saw the script in the first place; her team assumed she would not be interested in a role that required nudity, and Forster was unwilling to remove it. “I thought well, he’s not unmoving.Let me read it and if it’s great, then I’ll [talk] him out of it.”

So Lively read the script, and instantly fell in love—nude scene and all. The way Forster had written it actually changed the way Lively viewed on-screen nudity: “I always find nudity distracting,” she says. “I’m very in love with my husband, but if there’s a pair of boobs out, I’m a human being! You’re like ‘boobs!’ It doesn’t mean I’m lusting for them, [but] when there’s naked boobies, you look at them.”

For character research, Lively consulted with blind friends and experimented with using blackout glasses. Throughout the film, the actress also has to wear a variety of contact lenses to show her character’s evolving states of visibility. In an act of true kismet, the on-set lens technician who worked with Lively had actually gone through something similar to her character’s experience, and was able to serve as an instant resource for the actress.

Gossip Girl  •  By  •  Comments Off on “Gossip Girl” Turns 10!

Hello Upper East Siders! Yesterday was September 19, a very special day. Why’s that? It was ten years ago, on September 19 2007, that Gossip Girl aired for the first time and instantly stole our hearts. Might be a little late on the suprise (that was meant to be up yesterday) but i finally have it ready and am very excited to share with you what we’ve been up to! To start, i’ve uploaded to our gallery screen captures from every episode of season 1! You will notice that the first two episodes are in high definition while the others aren’t, but that’s because they have only recently been released and i didn’t have the time to replace all caps. But don’t worry because during the next weeks i’ll be replacing the remaining episode screen captures with high definition caps! Not only i’ve added screen captures but also promotional photos, on set and DVD features from season 1 – Make sure to check them out in the gallery by clicking on the link bellow!

But that’s not all! We are very proud to announce our Gossip Girl page, with information on the show and Serena’s storylines. It’s still a work-in-progress and i have a lot more planned to add to the page but as of now, you will find information on Serena, quotes and detailed information on the first season of the show. To wrap up this post, i have also added excerpts from a couple of articles that were released yesterday in celebration of the 10th anniversary that i found to be quite interesting and wanted to share with all of you. Hope you enjoyed the surprise and until next time!

VULTURE — The headline of the first reality index was: Gossip Girl: The Most Important Show of Our Time. Why? We don’t remember exactly, but mostly we called it important because we wanted to talk about it. And we were not the only ones: The internet wanted to talk about it. The commenting community that grew up around our recaps became its own entity: Every week, after the recap, we would post a recap-of-the-recap, in which the best reader comments were highlighted and dutifully tallied. And the writers of Gossip Girl read much of it — it was one of the first shows to recognize that its audience was in an active, weekly dialogue with its creators. The commenters gently shaped the show, and the show surprised its audience with how much it was willing to thrill and defy them. Creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage aggressively worked to keep it visually stunning and rhetorically inventive, and it dazzled for six straight years.

In retrospect, Gossip Girl was undoubtedly “important,” as we hyperbolically claimed after watching the pilot screener. Not just in the way that any show set in New York, about New York, becomes kind of a time capsule for the era in which it is filmed — in its case, the manic Second Gilded Age, in which the city under Bloomberg fully realized the identity it aspired to during the Sex and the City years,as a playground for the rich. A year after we started the recaps, the stock market crashed, the world met Ashley Dupré, Obama was elected, Bernie Madoff’s scheme was uncovered, and suffice it to say we were never bored again. But the Gossip Girl recap remained one of the most popular things on the site.

All I See Is You, Videos  •  By  •  Comments Off on (Video) “All I See Is You” Official Trailer

Hello Blake fans! It’s been a long time coming but it finally happened– The trailer for All I See Is You has been released! It looks to be such an intriguing movie by the looks of it, and we can’t wait to see Blake in this new role. The movie is set to be released in theaters and bellow, you will find the complete synopsis on it.

Gina (Blake Lively) and husband James (Jason Clarke) have an almost perfect marriage. After being blinded as a child in a nearly fatal car crash that claimed her parent’s lives, Gina depends on James to be her eyes—a dependence that appears to solidify their passionate relationship.  She sees her world in her own vivid imagination with help from James’ descriptions. Despite her disability, the two enjoy a colorful existence in Bangkok, Thailand where James works in insurance and Gina explores life in a foreign country.  It seems the only real hardship this loving couple faces is difficulty conceiving a child but when Gina is given the opportunity to have a corneal transplant and regains her vision, their life and relationship are upended. Gina now sees the world with a new sense of wonder and independence which James finds threatening. It is only when Gina suddenly begins to lose her sight again that she finally realizes the disturbing reality of their marriage and their lives.

Gossip Girl  •  By  •  Comments Off on When “Gossip Girl” Ruled the World

Vanity Fair published on their website an article today in celebration of Gossip Girl’s tenth anniversary (the pilot premiered a decade ago this fall) in which they spoke to the creators and the cast. You can read the full interview bellow!

Blake Lively had quit acting. The blonde Tarzana, California, native—who, one imagines, leaves a trail of sunflower emojis and the scent of cupcake icing in her wake wherever she goes—had had enough. Eighteen years old at the time, she had just appeared in a small independent film and come to a crushing conclusion: “I realized that [acting] was a business as much as a craft,” she told me more than a decade after the fact, while on the West Coast, where her husband, Ryan Reynolds, was about to start shooting Deadpool 2.“People will go see your movie based on your standing and all of that, and it didn’t make sense to me because I was 18 and being an artist.” She decided, having deferred from college a year earlier, that she would jump off the Hollywood carousel and enroll in school.

It was at about this time, in 2007, that The O.C., a prime-time soap opera about beautiful, articulate, sun-kissed teenagers living in Orange County, was wrapping up its four-year run. The show had arrived on the scene with a tidal wave of buzz, its actors almost immediately splashed on magazine covers and pushed out onto red carpets; but after burning through plot at a rapid pace (its leading lady, Mischa Barton, saw her character get killed off somewhat unceremoniously in the third season), the show sputtered to a close, ending with a truncated final season. But The O.C.’s creators and show-runners, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, already had the beaches of Newport in their rearview mirror, with their sights on a next project. They had been sent Cecily von Ziegesar’s popular Gossip Girlbook series, centered on a group of affluent, conniving New York private-school students. As soon as they finished reading the first book, the duo knew this was it. “We learned a lot of lessons [on The O.C.] and its kind of crazy four-year run that we wanted to take and apply to something moving forward, and we were really excited about doing something in New York,” Schwartz said over lunch in Los Angeles this past winter.

Meanwhile, a new television network, the CW, was simultaneously in the midst of a delicate birthing process. Formed by the union of the WB and UPN, the new network—led by then President of Entertainment Dawn Ostroff—was searching for an identity. “We knew we needed the definingshow,” Ostroff (currently president of Condé Nast Entertainment) said. “You have to sort of catch the wind at your back. You have to really hit something that’s in the zeitgeist, or really going to matter to people in a way that becomes an emotional connection. And it was even more difficult for us, because we were going after a younger, more finicky audience.”
